Out and about I see, a concert that’s fit for me. Went to see one band, discovered several which have promising plans.

Femme Fair, hosted by Cordero Music, happened not long ago at Ybor’s 1920 bar. I’ve attended several venues such as Margins United, Goth Market, and Rentfest where usually I’d go in a group, but I marked my independence that day by

Going Solo

Femme Fair was a female-fronted concert, and Lascivious was showing up. A band I’ve been wanting to catch again since the Goth Market.

While I desired to catch Lascivious, it’s important to keep an open mind about music since there were other bands prior to their set that really blew me away

First, I have to clarify that Cordero Music is a school that provides entry into the music world for several young musicians. The bands I’m going to discuss now are underaged, therefore, I won’t be attaching any photos of them to this blog (I didn’t take any). I’m simply going to talk about them, so let’s begin 始めて.

The night began with Cherry Hearts, a middle-school pop rock band that played a few originals and some covers. In-between songs, the member on keyboard consistently played a familiar tune that I couldn’t just pick up on.

I had to wait till they announced it with their rough, but otherwise good crowd communication. When they finally got around to the beat in question, they said:

“Our next song is ‘Join me in death’ by him”, that’s when I effectively went “OOOOOOOH” and whipped out my phone to inform my friend (who couldn’t come) that they’re playing his favorite song.

And they played it well, incredibly well. Good Vocalist, Great Musicians, and stellar teamwork! Keep it up guys!

Following them immediately after was Count the Ways, a band I got to know slightly and even follow. They performed several covers and few original songs, which was not a problem as every cover they performed had me head banging and tapping along.

I remember their cover of Bring Me To Life (Evanescence) and That’s What You Get by Paramore, songs that I know almost to heart. The band members have great chemistry, they perform swell. Not perfect, but nothing ever is. All that implies is they have tons of room for improvement! Their drummer was on point, even accompanying the vocalist for a wave of lyrics. Which takes us to the Vocalist and her guitar, two instrument she has complete control over and she nailed it. None that would’ve been possible if not for the bassist and keyboard player, my goodness they sounded so good!

Before I get to Lascivious, I’d like to bring up FUTURES THEORY. A band that has slipped under my radar.

They. Were. Powerful.

They’re primarily a death metal group that engages in some wild crowd interaction. The vocalist straight up told us they weren’t starting if the audience didn’t get closer, now THAT is some confidence.

FUTURES THEORY’s synergy was through the roof with their antics, their personality made their stage performance memorable for all

Which leads us onto Lascivious, the moment I’ve been waiting for! Despite mentioning them in my bio, I’ve never really talked about them.

Formed by Leah Heart and JP, Lascivious is a 2000s themed Vampire band from Ybor that’s performed at quite a few venues for a couple years now. I had the liberty to witness this glorious band at the Goth Market hosted by RentedTech at Deviant Libation. Their song, Dark Divine, has changed my life. It is an. INCREDIBLE. Pop Rock track.

Ouurgh I love this band. Their other songs are Karma & Cold Heart Lovin‘, accompanied by an unreleased song they play only at live shows. Leah is an incredibly awesome individual who spreads great messages about individuality at shows, about not letting others determine or control you. JP on guitar is always the goat; nobody rocks that thing like him. Lascivious’ sound is on his shoulders (and the drummer’s) as Leah provides only vocals. They are the dream team and I cannot wait to see where they go in life!
